![]() So the only difference is maybe whether the player chooses platonic or romantic relationships? Or ignores to meet certain characters altogether. Most of which are unavoidable.I have the feeling that there aren't really bad/good endings that depend on complex conditions? When I romanced Valeria I did mess up a bunch of gifts and plot points and still I got a "good" ending: Joining the Roses, being accepted by Jake and living happily ever after with V. It effectively says you "may" encounter certain triggers, but they're all in the main story. Game has already faced controversy for this, but trigger warning needs to be rephrased. ![]() Didn't bother me, but it may bother others. As far as I could tell, there was no way to go back to certain beats of the story. If I could, I would've had a save especially made so I could repeat the last chapter for my favourite suitor. The auto-save was a champ, but I do like the multiple save file feature that most VNs have. Rowan was easily my favourite, and I would really like to have seen or helped them through their grief for more than just three or four dates. This resulted in next to no heart-flutters for me, which I think is a significant goal for dating sims like this one. I feel like more interactions with them really would've made them shine. Characters were deeper than many in dating sims, but because of this, I feel like the creators could've gone a lot further. As a consequence, I feel like the characters kind of suffered for it. The game is meant to take place over three-ish months, but It felt like maybe a couple of weeks. No hate to the VA, but Holmes had the voice I took most issue with. For me, a couple of characters didn't have voices that suited them, which lead to me being taken out of the atmosphere and just thinking about them in the booth. Hope we can see updated animations if the game ever gets a revamp. Weapon transformation animations were a nice treat. Still cringed in most of the romantic bits, but that's me. I tend to turn it off, but I kept it on because I found most of the voice acting to be quite fun. ![]() Voice acting in dating sims is always tricky to get right without making me, at least, feel embarrassed. You can make up for "wrong" answers by just fighting together. It makes sense to me, and it also makes it easier for people who aren't used dating sims. On top of saying the right thing or giving them gifts, you can bond with your preferred weapons by fighting with them "in the dunj". This doesn't make the game easier or harder, and you can still get all the achievements even, if things are just platonic. There's someone for everyone in this game, and you can choose if you want to just be friends with them or date them all at once. Both the music and art style are great. I found the characters themselves to be a lot of fun to interact with. Not too hard, and didn't get too easy too quickly when levelling up. The game is a fun little hybrid of a dating sim and a Roguelike and I'm all for it. Really hope to have another game at Verona beach soon. Take the "may" in the warning as a "does" or "will" for the main story. Posted: 15 February In a nutshell: A quick and cute fusion of both dating sim and Roguelike where you can make as many friends or more-than-friends as you want, and still get all the achievements easily.
